Yes, where is Mr. Dickey? Maybe Taylor saw all those X-braces he was making, and decided to farm out their production to him. Looked like he had about a months production run sitting on his workbench anyway!

There's no mystery as to why Bruce isn't on the forum lately. He's been a leader in this group and a friend to many, and he was ambushed by his friends. I avoided that entire thread because I thought the whole thing was in poor taste. It's not about censorship, or freedom of speech. It was about poor taste. Every one of us told Lance not to use the "swear filter" because we could police ourselves. Well, the first time somebody speaks up against poor taste, everybody ambushes him. Look at the comments below directed at Bruce...You don't treat friends like that.

Hmm, I wonder why we haven't seen Bruce around? I'll be the first one in line to say you have the right to express yourself however you like. But just because you have the "right", doesn't automatically "make it right." I applaud the few who stood up and said Bruce's friendship is more important than a silly paintjob which nobody here is ever going to try. Why so many people feel the need to prove others wrong over valuing a friendship is beyond me. I hope we see Bruce back soon. This forum is top notch thanks to guys like Lance, Bruce, and a few other leaders amongst us. I know I'm a better builder by having these guys around, and it serves no good treating him like that. The sooner we see him back, the better!

I'm going to stick my nose in here and since I don't even know what this is all about except Bruce allegedly said something that rubbed a few the wrong way.
Has anyone heard of "Freedom of speech??"
We all have our crazy days and sometimes we are running out of sync. I'm not going to get Religious here but forgiveness is perhaps in order!!
For whatever the reason. I don't even want to know why. I refuse to go back thru any prior posts to find out what happened. This is a Professional Forum of wonderful people, brought together for the love of building musical instruments, not a Military or Judicial tribunal.
If someone said something that rubbed you the wrong way...let it go!! There is no malicious intent by anyone.
Let's get my friend Bruce back on the Forum and let this BS pass. The Forum is a better place with Bruce here with us. He's a good man and deserves a bit more understanding.

There is a post with a picture of a guitar that was covered with pictures of naked women. Bruce insisted it shouldn't be on the forum.

That doen't change anything...he has as much right to his opinion. All I'm trying to say is "Let's let it pass".
I didn't see the guitar...and it doesn't matter. What matters is that the whole issue is not important enough to dwell on it any further.

John, thank you for standing up like that. This place is worse for the wear without Bruce here. I know there are a few that have always had problems with Bruce. But what gets me is that I know there are a lot of you that took advantage of him and his generosity (think EIR) and now are stabbing him in the back.
An unkind word goes a long way. And there were many that were spoken about Bruce. Hey, if I were him I sure as heck wouldn't come back to a hostile enviroment like this has been towards him.
Keep in mind that if someone posted a pic of a guitar, he was ALWAYS one of the first to say "great job". If someone was new and posted here he ALWAYS said welcome.
He's a good man that would give the shirt off his back to any one of you. Even though you've treated him like dirt, he'd still do it.
It's not really my place to say so but I think some appologies are in order.

Your post is very one sided. Since many of the comments you posted were written by me and taken out of context
can you explain why it is o.k. for you make me out as the "BADGUY"? Can you explain to me why you didn't post the multiple posts where I appologized to everyone including Bruce? How come you didn't post where I said I hoped Bruce would come back? How come it's so wrong for anyone to tell Bruce to be quiet but yet o.k. for Bruce to demand I remove a post because he doen't like it? Or how come it has no value because the "silly" finish will never be used by anyone here. Obviously it had interest to me. I don't count right? I think your biased comments in the above post only continue something that never needed to be. If Bruce had contacted me personaly and explained his feelings maybe I would have "taped" the photos myself. Instead he DEMANDED it be removed. Who is he to demand anything!
How about me...we are so worried about Bruce's feelings. I post something that I felt was going to be helpful, and new, and All I keep getting is people like you dumping on me. I honestly can't believe got to this.

Now here is a bit of truth not everyone believes, but it is truth none the less. Apologies never fix a thing. Apologies are just words. I have not had the chance to meet any of you in person yet, but I still feel I know most of you. This is not what any of us are truly like. I did not think something like this was possible. Not here, Not this group. But sometimes thing happen and get out of hand, and we wish we could go back in time and erase what happened. But we can’t However we can go forward and learn from our mistakes.

I think the only thing that makes since is for all of us to shout from bottom of our heart "Bruce we miss you and want you back with us. We not whole with out you". So Please stand with me and say

One of the likeable things about (a guy like) Bruce is he encourages so many. Good attitude and all. He really never needs to defend himself, because his integrity does it for him. He stands for truth. I would entrust him with my children and wife. He's got discernment, and graceful with his speech, so as not to make a mockery of his realtionships with God, or people. I think he makes every attempt to live above reproach. He's mature enough to avoid harmful vices that have devastated his family members, and cares enough to help others avoid the pitfalls.   

Those are things that make the list for my friends. I spoke with Bruce for only 75 minutes on the phone recently, and found him to be a great guy. His legacy will be one of faithfullness, Godliness, and true character. No backpeddling necessary here.

I hope that all that I say, write, believe, and act out is a blessing to others. I'm sure Bruce desires the same.

Happy luthiery to ya Bruce. You deserve all the favor that God sends your way. Wish there were more folks that take a stand for righteousness. Peace 2 U

I didn't get involved in that post either. Not picking sides here but Dave had as much right to post the pic he did as Bruce did to object to it. However, we in america seem to feel that we have to voice our pleasure/displeasure on everything. Its like Howard Stern says, if you don't like what he says, then don't listen, change the channel. It was a neat finish and even though I would never do it, it was an interesting finish. Plus, I am pretty sure that alot of those comments towards Bruce were joking. I remember seeing alot of smiley faces and joking tones. I would like to see Bruce back as much as the next guy. There should be no apologies and everyone should just move on on this great forum. I have read many posts Bruce made that were sarcastic and could have been taken the wrong way but no one ran away. Now get the &*^$ back here Bruce because people miss you.
